The Ballet Room

The Ballet Room is steeped in history and offers the perfect venue for that corporate lunch or dinner. The entrance to one of Guyana’s most unique dining locations is graced with stunning hand painted doors from India dating back to the 1890s. The wrought iron arches that enhance the surroundings were commissioned from a foundry in Liverpool, England by the first Lord Mayor of Georgetown when he lived in the house. This design is continued on the railings and front gate of the hotel.

Visitors have the opportunity to dine in the same ornate room that was used to entertain royalty such as the Prince of Wales who was a guest 1923, Charles, Prince of Wales who visited in 2000 and Andrew, Duke of York who visited in 2004. Waiters in dinner suits, sparkling crystal bone china and an abundance of fresh flowers enhance the opulent atmosphere.

Service reminiscent of a bygone era awaits as you are pampered with starched linen napkins, hot towels, cold white wines and pre-dinner canapés. In keeping with tradition, all ladies receive a corsage on arrival for dinner. At the Ballet Room, we guarantee you an evening you will never forget.
